South West too strong

The Inner Zone Round Robin pairs was held at Eaton Bowling Club in Bunbury on February 18 and 19.

The event is the premier event for country women.

From Geraldton south, the country area is divided into four zones — South West, Southern, Eastern and Northern.

These four zones play off to claim the title of best in country WA.

Twelve players represented each zone.

In each zone, there areseveral leagues which play each other to decide the champion league.

Lower Great Southern League played their Inter-League Round Robin pairs at Gnowangerup on January 28 and 29. Six leagues of eight players competed, with South Central Arunga victorious.

From these 48 bowlers, 12 players, including four from the Lower Great Southern, were then chosen to represent Southern Zone.

This year’s Inner Zone Round Robin was won by South West, with Southern coming fourth.
