Albany’s multi-talented sportswoman Sophie McDonald is already kicking goals with her WA AFLW 18s teammates as they have started the NAB AFLW National 18s Championships with two victories.

McDonald is juggling hockey and football commitments but her debut in State footy colours netted a win over Queensland last Friday.

Playing at centre-half-back, McDonald starred for WA in the 47-point win as their defence kept Queensland goalless at Subiaco Oval.

On Sunday at Subiaco Oval, McDonald and her WA teammates made it two in a row as they downed Queensland by 15 points in a hard-fought tussle.

The 18-year-old again had a strong influence at centre-half-back as she was named in the best players for a second game in succession.
