Solo Thorn at front of bluesy trio

The Waifs’ and Albany’s Vikki Thorn has announced that she will embark on a solo tour in March.

The Albany-bred star will be fronting a trio with Heath Cullen and long term bassist from The Waifs, Ben Franz.

After 25 years as one third of The Waifs, Thorn’s individual country blues style will shine as she steps away from the groups folk format.

She has previously performed with Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Paul Kelly, John Butler and Missy Higgins.

Thorn’s powerful deep vocals will return to town with her new collection of songs at the Kalyenup Studio in the Albany Entertainment Centre on Sunday March 25.

The nationwide tour also includes performances in other Western Australian shows including Dunsborough and Margaret River.

The Waifs recently wrapped up a national tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary, which included shows in Albany and Denmark.
