A wind gust of 139km/h was recorded in Albany today with a severe weather warning in place as a cold front moves across the region.
Albany weather station duty observer Jenny Feast said strong winds and heavy rain were recorded but the damage was unlikely to be caused by a tornado.
“At this stage it doesn’t look like a tornado,” she said.
