Siblings spell double trouble in WA debut
Two sets of brothers from Albany will represent WA Country on Sunday in the WACA Premier T20 and colts competitions.
Teenage twins Michael and Matthew Ferreira will debut for the WA Country colts in the first round of the WACA colts competition, which has changed to a Twenty20 format.
Playing alongside the colts at Tompkins Park will be the WA Country XI, which will feature brothers Zane and Coen Marwick for round 1 of the WACA Premier T20 competition against experienced clubs Joondalup and Melville.
The Melville line-up will likely feature former Warriors and Brisbane Heat quick Ryan Duffield and former Warriors Luke Towers and Drew Porter.
WA Country return to the WACA competition for the first time since 2009-10 when they played in the One Day League with the return set to be an ideal boost for their preparations for the Australian Country Cricket Championships in January.
WA Country has been placed in group D of the competition and will take on powerhouse Claremont-Nedlands and South Perth on Sunday, October 29.
Zane Marwick, who was part of the WA touring squad to Wollongong last January, is again in the extended Country XI squad and is joined by younger brother Coen Marwick, who has represented the colts for the past two seasons.
The Ferreiras, who play for North County, are again travelling to play under-17s for Midland-Guildford in the WADCC Shield competition.
