An art collective made up of four creative family members is gearing up to deliver a for-show showing of acrylic, ceramic, print and wire works in Albany this month. Bronwen Newbury, Laura Newbury, Anna Anderson and Megan Anderson are the artists behind Shady Booze Hounds and the group will be peddling their wares at 122 Hare Street in Mt Clarence from January 26-27. Breezy depictions of local landscapes and shady urban streets dominate the works of Bronwen Newbury and Anna Anderson while Laura Newbury’s colourful hand-coloured collagraphs reflect themes of family, friendship and fun. Known as the ‘dog lady’, Megan Anderson’s canine-inspired wire sculptures complete the snapshot of Australian culture presented by the Shady Booze Hound collective. Shady Booze Hounds will be on show in Mt Clarence from 10am-4pm on January 26-27 and 10am-12pm on January 28.
