Roads in the Shire of Denmark will be considered for sealing after councillors voted in support of a cost-benefit analysis to be undertaken by the chief executive officer and factored into next year’s budget.

The Shire will investigate innovative and environmentally sustainable options for road surfacing.

It comes after a particularly wet winter that wreaked havoc on many roads around the Great Southern.

Though he voted in favour of the motion at Tuesday’s meeting, Cr Kingsley Gibson raised concerns that the task might be bigger than it seemed.
