Sad end for dugite stuck in a beer can

A dugite has died after its head became stuck in a discarded beer can.

Morris Trimming, owner of Woodanilling Katanning Transport, was driving when he spotted the unusual sight on the side of a road.

“His body was quite thick and his head obviously fit in there,” Mr Trimmer said. “But because of the angle of the scales pulled forward, I couldn’t pull him out because the scales would hook back into the can.” Sadly the snake had to be euthanised.
