Australian rockers The Rubens are coming to Albany.

The genre-blending band which topped the 2015 triple j Hottest 100 with their single Hoops will play at the White Star Hotel in July. The Rubens announced their biggest Australian tour to date this week, with Albany one of 27 locations they will visit.

Their Live in Life tour will start in May, including new music the five-piece band wrote in-between stops on their international 2019 tour.

The band shot to fame in 2012 with their track My Gun.

In 2018, their single Never Ever went double-platinum in Australia and won them rock work of the year at the Australasian Performing Right Association Awards.

They spent three months of that year opening for Pink on her Australian tour after releasing their latest studio album, Lo La Ru.

Live in Life, released as a single last year, tracks the highs and lows of a relationship breakdown.

The Rubens, originally from NSW, include the three Margin brothers, Zaac, Sam and Elliott, and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis.

Tickets for their Albany show will go on sale to the public on Thursday, March 5 at 8am AEDT from Oztix.
