Rovers punish Bayswater to remain undefeated in GSSA men’s division one competition after four rounds

Rovers remain undefeated in the Great Southern Soccer Association men’s division one competition after handing Bayswater a 5-0 thrashing on Saturday night. Bradley Chapman and Brad Bielecki set the tone for the dominant performance, as Chapman scored a brace and Bielecki dispatched a classy finish in the comfortable result. In another one-sided round four contest, Caledonians bounced back from their 6-3 loss last week to record their second win of the season against Denmark. Denmark were outplayed by the quick-paced Caledonians in the first half as they trailed by two goals heading into the final 45 minutes. In the second half Denmark conceded three more goals as an even Caledonians team spread had goals scored by Chris Wallace, Beau Timmer, Joseph Love, Trent Eikelboom and Calvin Bosch. In yet another lopsided affair, Polonia won their third consecutive game as they put five past Royals in a powerful second half performance. Royals were hopeful of snapping their two-game losing streak after a solid first half performance when they went into the main break level at 1-1. However a four-goal second-half from Polonia stunned Royals and handed them their third defeat for the year, going down 5-1. In the women’s division one fixtures on Friday night, Denmark A continued their terrific form as they overcame Denmark B with a convincing 6-1 triumph. Despite a first half finish from Denmark B’s Esther Taylor, Denmark A’s Abi Matthews and Mei Jones both hit the scoresheet with two goals apiece while Ella SInclair and Iman Anderson also found the back of the net as they emerged 6-1 winners. In the remaining women’s division one games, Polonia thumped Polonia B 9-1, Rovers notched their first win of the season in spectacular fashion downing Phoenix 7-0, and Caledonians drew 2-2 with Sonics.
