Robson jailed for 14 months
An Albany masseur who admitted to secretly and indecently filming female clients has been jailed for 14 months.
Mark William Robson, 41, was handed the prison term in Albany Magistrates Court this afternoon having previously pleaded guilty to 88 counts of visually recording a private activity and one count of possessing a surveillance device knowing it was for unlawful use.
The court heard Robson’s offending occurred over a three-year period when he was the owner-operator of York Street business Mark Robson Massage Therapy before his wife discovered videos and still images on his laptop last year and reported it to police.
Robson used a Nokia mobile phone as a camera and concealed it in a speaker box near the head of his massage table to see women partially undress and expose their breasts with Magistrate Raelene Johnston describing the conduct as “planned and premeditated”.
“They trusted you as a health professional and you took advantage of them,” she said in sentencing.
Robson was made eligible for parole.
