Albany author Jon Doust is one of two WA writers included in an anthology dedicated to Nick Cave with the launch at the Albany Entertainment Centre on November 24 raising money for the Albany Community Hospice. Into Your Arms: Nick Cave’s Songs Reimagined is a collection of stories inspired by Nick Cave lyrics and is the second in a series with writers in the first book responding to Paul Kelly songs. Albany author Jon Doust is one of two West Australian contributors to the book. “The launch will be a night of music, readings and musings,” he said. Doust will read excerpts from the book along with fellow contributors Arnold Zable, Toni Jordan and Melissa Manning. The non-traditional book launch will include music by Nick Cave, a quiz and a Q&A. The launch doubles as a fundraiser for the Albany Community Hospice, the only community-funded hospice in WA, with all proceeds from book sales going towards the clinic.
