Albany trainer Steve Wolfe has won his third Mungrup Stud Sprint after Red Ora blitzed his rivals in this afternoon’s $100,000 feature race as part of Grapes and Gallops day at Mt Barker Turf Club.

In front of a big crowd Red Ora, who was having his first start for Wolfe since being transferred from Daniel Morton, settled midfield before jockey Shaun McGruddy pounced nearing the home corner.

Following the back of the well-fancied Dream Lifter, Red Ora swooped around the outside and straightened up well in third place before sprinting home strongly to down Dream Lifter by 2 ¼ lengths on the line.

It was the first victory in the race for McGruddy and third for his stable boss Wolfe.

Dream Lifter bravely lumped the 59.5kg but couldn’t outsprint the winner with the weight swing while Mad Brad filled third place and $2.90 favourite Ripper Rio ran seventh.
