Denmark’s Boston Brewing Co. took home four medals after the Australian International Beer Awards last Friday in Melbourne.

After rebranding in January, the Denmark brewery claimed a silver medal for its German-style wheat beer Hey Hay and a bronze for its smoked Stoker.

Its The Right and Boondie brews were also awarded bronze medals in the best design category and general manager Glen Daniel said it had been a successful rebrand so far.

“We weren’t really tied to the the region before, so we’ve rebranded and really made it about the Great Southern and its environment,” he said.

“Everything is really based around the Great Southern.

“All the names are from things in the region.”

Since January, Boston Brewing has sold 1700 cartons of its new beers and Mr Daniel said head brewer Tyson Addy had played a major part in the recognition the brewery was receiving.

“Tyson has got us quite a few awards over the years,” he said.
