Railways, Mt Barker and Royals notch wins in rounds three and four of ADCA Twenty20 competition

Railways finished the Albany and Districts Cricket Association Twenty20 competition with two victories after defeating Manypeaks by 18 runs on Saturday. The Tigers sat on level points heading into their final qualifying game with Royals, however, a thumping defeat ended their chances of making the T20 decider. Coen Marwick led from the front in their round four victory on Turf South over Peaks, starring with an unbeaten half century before his side held their nerve with the ball. The Tigers skipper carried his bat as he smacked 70 not out from 60 balls in an innings that included six fours and one six. Marwick guided the Tigers to 5-138 off their 20 overs with Hayden Davies added 18 runs late in the innings. Jeremy Stewart was the pick of the bowlers for Peaks with 2-13 off his four overs. In reply Peaks could only manage 8-120 after a batting collapse where they lost 7-31 despite opener Seb Stanton making 48 off 39 balls. Marwick (3-18) and Lawrence t’Hart (3-24) did the damage with the ball for the Tigers as they notched a second win of the T20 format. Mt Barker finished comfortable eight-wicket winners over eventual champions Royals in the other round four fixture. The Bulls finished on 2-130 with 14 balls to spare in reply to the Lions 4-129. Alex Fergie carried his bat in the win with a blistering 75 from 52 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes, while Nathan Crudeli (23 not out) and Brent Jarvis-Spinks (21) also chipped in. Lions captain Mitch Green led the way in the first innings with 47. Earlier in the day, Lions new recruit Lincoln Joy guided his side to a thumping 69-run win over Collingwood Park on Turf North in round three. Joy whacked 46 not out while Green (37) and Ryley Valli (30) also got among the runs as they posted 4-148. Park were bowled out for just 79 on the last ball of their innings as Joy starred with 5-15 and Dylan Holt snared 3-7. The Bulls finished 14-run victors over Peaks in their round three clash, successfully defending 122. Neil Ferreira (38) and Crudeli (31) led the way with the bat while Jack Stephens claimed 2-18 for Peaks. Peaks made a good fist of the run chase but fell short despite the best efforts of Kane Pinney (35 not out) and Charlie Walters (21).
