It’s that time of year again when punters are getting ready to dress to impress for the Albany Boxing Day Races.

Every year the Percy Spencer Racecourse is flooded with revellers for one of the social highlights of the Great Southern racing calendar.

Gates open from 11am and the first race will be at 12.15pm.

Albany Racing Club Manager Mal Cameron said he was looking forward to another family friendly day on Monday.

“We had an excellent field last year so we are hoping to improve on that with another great day this year,” he said.

Shuttle buses will be running from 5-7pm taking patrons from the race track to the visitor centre.

Live entertainment will be in full swing and will include popular band Big Men Working as well as a children’s bouncy castle and slide.

Winona Bell and Charlisse Cronin are among the locals getting their outfits ready for the event.

Punters may need to bring a brolly, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a maximum of 23C and rain on Boxing Day.
