Albany detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who may be able to help assist with an investigation into an aggravated burglary and assault that occurred early on Tuesday morning.

About 1.15am on Tuesday, detectives say a man entered a home on Tunney Way in Spencer Park and assaulted a woman, causing injuries to her face, and threatened her before leaving the address.

Inquiries are continuing into the incident and on Wednesday a description of the man was released by police.

The man is described as about 175-180cm tall and of medium build.

Police say at the time of the alleged offence the man was wearing black jeans, jacket and sneakers, black gloves and a balaclava.

Anyone who has video footage from the Spencer Park area between 12.30 and 1.30am on Tuesday, or any information related to the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
