Mt Barker Speedway Club will hold its third meeting of the season this Saturday, highlighted by the production sedan feature and the V8 dirt modifieds.

A $2000 prize pool will be up for grabs in the production sedan field, which has attracted more than 10 nominations including Bill and Ryan Penn, Mark Furphy, Jess Hall and Mike Kinnear.

The V8 dirt modifieds will travel down to race at Les Gorman Park while the program for the meeting will also consist of super sedans, street stocks and junior sedans.

Gates open at 10am and racing will start at 1pm on Saturday at the daylight venue.

Meanwhile, Mt Barker’s Chris Pavlovich, who will be in action at his home track on Saturday, claimed round 3 of the Super Sedan Summer Series in Bunbury last Saturday night.

Pavlovich finished with a first and second from his two heat races but could only manage sixth in the top-six dash to leave him starting the 20-lap feature race from the outside of the third row. After a crash on the opening lap, Pavlovich moved up to second place and trailed Gary Higgs for much of the final until the leading duo hit lap traffic.

Pavlovich passed Higgs down low as dust from a spinning car drifted on to the track, and despite Higgs trying to chase him down in the final two laps, it was the Mt Barker local who prevailed by 0.291sec.
