Preliminary final spot up for grabs between Narrikup 2 and Royals Saints 1 in first week of A1 finals

Narrikup 2 and Royals Saints 1 will face-off in an intriguing elimination first semifinal that will start the Albany Netball Association A1 finals series on Saturday.

Both sides will be out to keep their season alive in the sudden-death final and the winner will progress to next week’s preliminary.

Narrikup 2 spent much of the season in the top two but slipped to third place in the final round and missed out on a double chance despite winning 10 games.

Royals Saints 1 won seven games in the regular season.

The two sides have split their results this season, with Narrikup 2 winning their most recent encounter by 10 goals.

Narrikup 2 have lost their past two matches while Royals Saints come into the finals with three wins from their past five games.

Reigning premiers Narrikup 1 will meet Magpies 1 in the first week of the finals as they do battle in the second semifinal clash on Saturday with a spot in the grand final on the line.

Magpies have won both matches against Narrikup 1 this season and were narrow two-goal victors when the pair met in round 10.

The Denmark-based team have won four of their past five games.

Narrikup 1’s last defeat came at the hands of Magpies and they have four matches in a row coming into this final.

Narrikup 2 and Royals Saints play on court six at 2.30pm followed by Narrikup 1 and Magpies at 4pm.
