Police to hold press conference on Albany homicide case as detail about man with critical injuries confirmed

Police have revealed new information regarding an Albany homicide investigation that has entered a sixth day, and are set to hold a press conference this afternoon about the shocking incident. In an official statement on Friday morning, WA Police said investigations into the suspicious death of the 69-year-old woman are ongoing, but confirmed a 50-year-old man was fighting for his life in Royal Perth Hospital. The 50-year-old man, who is known to the deceased woman, was located inside the Spencer Park unit with injuries. Police say he was conveyed to RPH and is currently receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries. “Inquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and the injuries the man sustained,” the spokesperson said. Investigations by the Advertiser revealed on Tuesday that a 50-year-old man was fighting for his life in RPH, having been flown from Albany via Royal Flying Doctors Service. He remained in a critical condition in the intensive care unit of RPH on Friday. At 3.10pm on Sunday, February 8 police were called to a residence on Burville Street in relation to an unresponsive woman. A 69-year-old woman was located dead inside the unit, which has become the centre of an extensive homicide investigation for the past week.
