A 16-year-old boy allegedly led police on a high-speed chase through Albany on Friday night then returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.15. Police say the boy reached speeds of up to 140km/h in a 60km/h zone in a white Mitsubishi Magna with no number plates. It is alleged officers tried to intercept the vehicle in McKail on two separate occasions as it was driven in a reckless manner, first on Clydesdale Road about 8pm and then on South Coast Highway about 20 minutes later. Later that night, the car was found abandoned in Albany and was seized by police. The 16-year-old was arrested nearby. He allegedly returned a positive breath test of 0.15, but is yet to be charged by police. Police are calling for anyone with information or footage of the car to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperswa.com.au.
