Police investigate suspicious house fire

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in McKail overnight, causing $250,000 damage.

Fire crews received a phone call at around 10pm on Sunday night to attend the fire on Gregory Drive.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said a male occupant was in the home at the time.

“The male occupant was given oxygen at the scene from smoke inhalation and then taken to Albany Health Campus escorted by police,” he said.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.
