Police are investigating the theft of a large quantity of cigarettes.

Esperance Detectives said the cigarettes were stolen from a truck trailer while it was in transit from Perth to Esperance, between 8am Saturday, December 15 and 5:30pm on Sunday December 16 last year.

The theft is believed to have occurred at either Bedfordale Hill, off Albany Highway or Lake Grace prior to Esperance.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen the incident, or has any information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
