Police calling for information after car found wrecked, abandoned and on fire near Mt Melville

A car was found abandoned and on fire near Mt Melville in a late-night mystery last week. Emergency services were called to Melville Drive just after 11pm on Tuesday after reports that a car had crashed and burst into flames. Police and firefighters arrived to find a car that had left the road on a slight bend, struck a tree and become engulfed in fire. There was no driver at the scene. The 2006 gold Holden Calais was destroyed in the blaze. Firefighters helped extinguish the fire before it spread to surrounding scrub. Albany police confirmed the car had not been reported stolen and their investigations were ongoing.
