Albany police are investigating the circumstances that led to a car smashing through a railing and brick wall after losing control on Bolt Terrace on Monday night. The crash happened on the doorstep of the Albany office of the Australian Border Force and police arrived to find an abandoned Ford Falcon smashed in the wreck. There are visible tyre marks on the road and significant damage caused to the front of the building. The car was left stranded on the grass in front of the building. Police were called to the crash at about 9.30pm on Monday and Acting Sen. Sgt Roy Begg confirmed that the driver and any possible occupants from the crash were not located at the scene or in the vicinity when they arrived. Acting Sen. Sgt Begg was confident they would locate and interview the driver of the vehicle and said on Tuesday inquiries were ongoing.
