Members of disability support organisations and the local council met at Albany’s Public Library on Tuesday for a morning tea meet and greet.

The event was organised by People with Disabilities Western Australia and ConnectGroups to build ties between like-minded people and groups.

The morning started with short presentations from the organisers, explaining the work their groups do to support both people with disabilities as well as those who support and advocate for them.

A quick round of Introductions and a Q&A segment let attendees share who they were and what work they did as well as what kind of support they were seeking and how they wanted to improve the care and aid available to the Great Southern’s disabled community.

The morning wrapped up with discussions about working together and new possible support groups and programs over a delicious morning tea spread put on by a local bakery.
