Over sharing on social media

It is always important to check the background of an image before posting online.

An Albany man has found that out the hard way.

In a well meaning post, the man put a picture of his stolen mountain bike on an Albany Facebook page, hoping to be reunited with it.

However, eager users quickly spotted what appeared to be a homemade smoking device behind the bicycle.

The photo was since deleted but not before the perils of the internet were highlighted.
