One-punch accused appears in court

A 23-year-old man charged over a one-punch assault which left Albany man Tobiah Pocklington with serious head injuries last month has appeared in court.
Samuel Donald Ford appeared in Albany Magistrate’s Court last Thursday facing a charge of grievous bodily harm from the alleged assault on Mr Pocklington on July 29.
Representing himself via video link from Albany Regional Prison, Mr Ford told the court he was yet to obtain legal advice and requested an adjournment.
Mr Pocklington, 26, suffered a fractured skull, hairline fractures around his eye sockets, damage to his teeth and a fractured jaw requiring steel plate and screws.
Mr Ford will appear in court again on September 13.
