Wine and food lovers can taste their way around the region at a new festival and feast to launch this month.

The Mount Barker Wine Producers Association is hosting two events on January 23 and 24 to celebrate the region’s produce.

On the Saturday, a long-table dinner will put wine, Mt Barker Chicken and Plantagenet Pork on the menu, with Albany’s new tapas bar Loft 22 catering for the night.

The first Mt Barker Wine Festival will take place on the Sunday. Plantagenet Wines, Gilbert Wines, Arcadia Wines, West Cape Howe, Galafrey Wines, Hawker Ridge and Poachers Ridge will have their wines on display.

Alongside the festival will be a market fair featuring more local products and crafts. The Mt Barker Wine Festival will take place at Plantagenet Wines on Sunday, January 24, from midday-6pm.

Entry is $5 and a tasting glass is $10.

There will be live music and food.
