There were thrills and spills during August’s club meet at the Albany City Kart Club on Sunday. There were strong numbers in the six divisions that hit the track, in ideal conditions. The recently installed safety track light system was put to use, with a full-course red-light stoppage after a crash involving newcomer Mackenzie Stean. She was attended to by officials and ambulance officers after the nasty crash. Jack Panizza defeated Blaze Beever and Percy Coleman in the cadet 9 division, while William Panizza was too strong for Cody Colmer and Grady Crofts in the KA3 junior light class. Harrison Burns and Shane Burns tied for top honours in the KA3 senior light division, and Glen Treloar finished first ahead of Andrew Hannig and Peter Diprose in the Tag 125 restricted medium. In the Tag 125 restricted light division, Jayden Lister edged out Jake Jurgielewicz and Harrison Apostoles, while Alexander Hills won the cadet 12 division from Oscar Coleman and Ben Keen. The club’s next meeting is the Valvoline Challenge on September 17.
