New colossus Bunnings Warehouse opens in Albany ahead of Christmas
Getting the job done is about to get a bit more exciting for tradies, DIY-ers and gardeners, with the new Albany Bunnings Warehouse set to open today.
The mammoth store on Chester Pass Road spans more than 14,500sqm and represents an investment of $29 million.
Staff are preparing for a busy period before Christmas at a store which boasts features not even seen in Perth stores.
A kitchen design centre with nine kitchen displays, a cafe, a timber trade area with three-lane drive-through, a hire shop and a range of artificial plants are some of the new features.
It also has double the parking of the previous store, with 290 car bays. It has been hard to ignore the construction of the huge warehouse which started last December.
Manager Doug Grant said he was excited to bring a bigger and better service to residents.
“The team’s been working really hard to get the new store ready and we can’t wait to welcome the local community through our doors,” he said. “We’ve been part of the community for over 20 years, so we’re really excited to bring an even better offer to customers in Albany.”
Mr Grant said Bunnings had employed 20 new staff members, in addition to the 110 team members transferring from the old store.
