National hockey stars Tom and Jake HarvIe inspire Great Southerners during fun-filled clinics

Eager Great Southern hockey players crossed sticks with Kookaburras and Perth Thundersticks stars after brothers Jake and Tom Harvie visited the region last weekend. The pair ran several clinics that focused on giving young hockey players new skills, techniques and tactical knowledge through games and fun activities. Dozens of young players from across the Great Southern attended the clinics, which started on Friday night in Mt Barker. The star duo then hit Albany turf on Saturday morning with the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association for several clinics with multiple age groups. Jack Harvie, a 61-game player for the Kookaburras and two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and Tom, who is a member of men’s national development squad, journeyed south in a bid to promote the sport in regional parts of the State.
