My Greek Boy’s Pinjarra tilt
Steve Wolfe and Brodie Kirby will take their red-hot Great Southern form to Pinjarra this Sunday when veteran sprinter My Greek Boy contests the Listed $120,000 Pinjarra Classic (1300m).
My Greek Boy will have his third run this campaign after successive third placings in the Mungrup Stud Sprint, and then over 1400m at Ascot to rising sprinter Coming Around.
Kirby has shot back on to the scene this season in Albany where he is leading the riding ranks this season and is retains the ride on the seven-year-old gelding.
My Greek Boy, a winner of 13 races, will carry the minimum 54kg in the feature race that also contains Dance Music, Cup Night and Tell’em We’re Comin.
Wolfe, who has been in vintage Great Southern form, will also take Apollo to Pinjarra on Sunday.
Small-scale Albany trainer Rebecca Wallrodt also has a runner in Pinjarra, impressive last-start winner Our Buddy Boy who will race over 1400m.
On Saturday Wolfe will saddle up four runners at Ascot, headlined by Magic Millions 2YO Classic place getter Watch Me Dance.
The eye-catching filly will contest the Salinger Plate (1100m) for two-year-old’s hoping to notch a second victory when she jumps from barrier seven with 54kg.
Ryan Hill will jump back aboard after guiding him to an impressive victory on debut.
Impressive three-year-old Eurasia is another of the Wolfe runners as Ascot and last start winner War Class will clash with fellow Albany runner Ionyx from the Roy Rogers stable.
Zetorio appears to have strong claims for Rogers in the Julie and Mike’s Birthday Handicap (1000m), after not being beaten far at his past two starts.
