Narrikup’s Mungrup Stud is set to be a big player at next week’s Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, which will be held at the new sales complex in the Swan Valley for the first time.

Mungrup Stud will have 34 yearlings entering the ring by sires Playing God, Oratorio and the first crop by new sire I’m All The Talk.

The two-day sales, which begin on Monday, have Mungrup Stud with lot 1, a full brother to Motion Pictures who won the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate and the Group 3 Sires Produce Stakes.

Albany galloper Lordhelpmerun, trained locally by Steve Wolfe, won the 2018 Sires Produce Stakes and is by Mungrup sire Playing God.

There is also plenty of interest around I’m All The Talk, who was trained by Golden Slipper trainer Gary Portelli and won the Group 2 Skyline Stakes that has proven to be a sire-producing race.

Recently, Portelli visited Mungrup to have an early look at yearlings before the sale and was excited by the new crop from I’m All The Talk.

A number of WA trainers have visited Mungrup Stud in the past few weeks to see the draft paraded ahead of the sales.

Yearlings and staff will travel to the Swan Valley today to prepare for inspections and parades leading up to the Monday and Tuesday sales.

Mt Barker’s Cheval Stud and Clare Downs Stud will also take yearlings to the sales.

Each has two horses up for grabs.
