Multi-tonne Cleanaway rubbish truck breaks down on Seymour Street in Mira Mar, one of Albany’s steepest hills
A multi-tonne rubbish truck broke down on one of Albany’s steepest streets last week, with the heavy vehicle requiring a tow truck to navigate out of the sharp incline.
The 15 to 20 tonne Cleanaway vehicle ground to a halt on the dip of Seymour Street in Mira Mar on Wednesday morning as it began its climb up the steep hill.
City of Albany operations manager Damon Lawrence confirmed Seymour Street has one of the highest inclines in the City.
“The city is aware that a Cleanaway rubbish truck broke down on Seymour Street in Mira Mar this morning, weighing about 15 to 20 tonnes,” he said.
“Seymour Street is among the steepest streets in Albany with a significant incline compared to most but we think there are at least a couple that are steeper.”
