A superb all-round performance from Nathan Crudeli guided Mt Barker to a bonus-point victory over Manypeaks in round three of the Albany and Districts Cricket Association on Saturday. The eight-wicket victory moved the Bulls back to the top of the standings. Crudeli produced a terrific spell of 2-17 from nine overs before finishing unbeaten on 70 to steer his side to victory. Peaks were restricted to 9-138 batting first before the Bulls chased down the total with ease in 29.5 overs. Nathan Crosby was caught behind for two but it bought Crudeli to the crease to join Alex Fergie. That pair shared in a superb 117-run stand as they worked the ball around while regularly finding the boundary. Fergie was bowled by Jeremy Stewart for 58 from 90 balls, including seven fours and a six. Nathan Poole hit a six to win the game for Bulls as they finished on 2-144. Crudeli whacked eight fours and one six on his way to 70 not out from 63 balls. Peaks were unable to post a match-winning total as their top order crumbled. Crudeli removed Kieran Howie in the third over of the match but Regan Poett (26 runs) and Seb Stanton added 42 together. Both were caught by Crosby in quick succession, with their side tumbling to 7-91 later on. Captain Aran Tilbury provided some late resistance hitting five fours on his way to 33 from 32 balls and Chris Metcalfe added 19, but it wasn’t enough to help Peaks post a defendable total. Bulls captain Jeremy Wood snared 2-12 off eight overs including four maidens while Jarrad Gardiner took 2-28 along with Crudeli’s impressive figures.
