Motorcyclist killed, another injured in two crashes

A 61-year-old man has died after his motorcycle hit a tree in Denmark on Saturday morning.

Police said the man was riding his silver motorcycle with other motorcyclists on Scotsdale Road about 8.30am when his motorcycle struck a tree and he was thrown from the vehicle.

He received critical injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene. Major crash investigators are seeking information.

Meanwhile, a a 40-year-old man received minor injuries in a motorcycle crash in Mt Barker. The motorcycle collided with an oncoming vehicle while riding on Porongurup Road on Sunday.

Porongurup Road was briefly closed afterwards.
