More than 36,000 clay targets will be shot over the next three days at the Albany Clay Target Club in one of the State’s major events.

Shooters from across WA will descend on the club for three days of competition, which begins Friday and finishes on Sunday.

Some of the State’s top clay target shooters will be at the annual event, which is set to be held in ideal conditions.

During the weekend, the 36,000 clay targets will be thrown at speeds over 70km/h to test the skills of competitors who will use shotguns to shoot the targets in the air.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the sport to come out and have a look,” Albany Clay Target Club president Ollie McPartland said.
