Newly planted trees have been destroyed at the Centennial Park sports grounds.

One Advertiser reader wrote to the newspaper this morning after their daily morning walk.

“Many newly planted trees around the cricket pavilion have been smashed down, broken and scattered on the pathways overnight,” they said.

“Heartbreaking, sickening to see this mindless destruction. We were all so looking forward to seeing these trees in their first real spring.

“We hope the police find the boneheads and make them pay.”

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
