Milestone for property team

Albany’s Professionals Arthur Johnston Snowball real estate agency is celebrating its 121st birthday this year.

Director Greg Pearson has come from a family of successful real estate agents and has almost 20 years experience in the industry.

He said building a quality team to gain the respect of the community was why the agency had been so successful.

“All of our team appreciate the area we live in and love the opportunity to showcase what our region has to offer,” he said. “We have never had aspirations of having the biggest team but simply want to be known for having a hard-working, dedicated team of real estate professionals.

“There is definitely a need to be ready to change and adapt to not only the changing market, but also trends and technology within the real estate sector and our marketplace.”

Mr Pearson said the company not only handled real estate transactions, but also helped people reach their goals and dreams. “People obviously move house for many varied reasons, but to help them reach their individual goals is really very satisfying,” he said.

The business opened as Arthur Johnston Snowball in 1896 as a shipping and forwarding agent for the port of Albany and soon changed to real estate and property management when developments increased.

In November, 2000 the company merged with another leading real estate office, The Professionals Watson & Capararo to become Professionals Arthur Johnston Snowball.

Reflecting on how the industry has changed over the past century, Mr Pearson said the general public were far more informed about what was happening in the market.

“Whilst there will always be a place for ever-evolving technology in our industry, this must be balanced with still providing a personalised, customer-focused service to our clients,” he said.

He said he would like to thank the real estate team members and their valued past and present clients.
