The Ellen Cove jetty at Albany’s popular Middleton Beach will be closed for five weeks while undergoing reconstruction works.

Works to replaced the deteriorated timbers of one of the oldest jetty’s in Albany will begin Monday 19 and are set to finish March 23.

During the reconstruction, a section of the Middleton Beach swimming enclosure will be lowered to allow equipment and materials to access the site.

A 10 metre exclusion zone will also be established around the jetty to ensure public safety.

The City of Albany has warned visitors to be cautious when swimming in the area and obey the exclusion zone.
