Michael Lane confident Tradensia can help him claim his second $35,000 Golden Bracelet in three years

Boyanup trainer Michael Lane is confident he can win his second $35,000 Golden Bracelet (1600m) in three years when Tradensia contests the Albany Racing Club feature on Sunday. Lane claimed the 2019 Golden Bracelet with Friarandice ridden by champion jockey William Pike. The fillies and mares feature race headlines Ladies’ Day at Percy Spencer Racecourse, and the event has attracted 11 runners. Tradensia, who ran in the Listed Belmont Oaks last year, has finished runner-up at her last two starts in Bunbury. The four-year-old mare has four victories to her name in 14 career starts, including once over the 1600m distance of Sunday’s race. After being dealt a big task with 62.5kg, Lane has kept 3kg claiming apprentice Angela Johnston aboard. Tradensia will carry 59.5kg and will jump from barrier one. “She’s my apprentice and she rode it last start so we will give her another chance,” Lane said. “We wouldn’t be able to run in the race without a claimer. “She’s a nice little mare, she’s very honest and always tries her heart out “We have won it before with Friarandice so it’s a nice opportunity to come down again.” Lane believes promising type Fangio from the Roy Rogers yard is the one to beat. Fangio is in red-hot form, winning her past three starts. “Roy’s horse looks hard to beat, it’s in good form,” Lane said. “I believe we are a legitimate winning chance, we wouldn’t be coming down otherwise.” Fangio will be ridden by Chris Parnham and will lump 60kg. Rogers will have a three-pronged attack in the Golden Bracelet while Steve Wolfe, Stephen Sheehy and Rebecca Wallrodt are the other local trainers that have a runner in the race that will be run at 4.55pm.
