Albany fast bowler Bryce Jackson helped Melville win the WACA Premier Twenty20 title, playing a key role in their six-wicket victory over Subiaco-Floreat on Sunday night.

Jackson, who hails from local club Collingwood Park, claimed two scalps in Melville’s title win at the WACA.

The fiery quick snared the first wicket of the contest, as he had Subiaco-Floreat captain Geremy Fatouros caught for five in his first over.

Jackson came back on for a second spell late in the innings and trapped Jack Retallack in front for one.

Subiaco-Floreat were bowled out for 119 in the final delivery of the innings as Jackson returned terrific figures of 2-16 from four overs and he also took a catch.

In the run chase Melville got off to a terrific start as captain Fraser Hay and Andrew McLean put on 64 runs for the opening stand.

McLean was the first wicket to fall before former Ireland international Sean Terry joined Hay at the crease and they added 27.

Hay was stumped for 58 off 42 balls but Terry and Blake Reed got their side into triple figures.

Terry was bowled for 25 and his side required six runs for victory from 14 deliveries.

Conor Moldrich only conceded four runs in the 19th over and then Michael Hart struck with the first ball of the last over followed by two dot balls.

Melville required two runs to win from three balls and Brad Turner was the hero as he hit a two to hand Melville a six-wicket win with two balls to spare.
