Mitch McGovern is officially a Blue after being successfully traded to Carlton from Adelaide yesterday.

The North Albany product had nominated the Blues as his preferred destination with the three-way trade confirmed yesterday in the middle of AFL trade week.

The Crows have received Sydney’s first-round draft pick (No.13), a future fifth-round selection from Carlton plus SANFL talent Shane McAdam.

The Blues acquired McGovern and a future third-round pick.

McGovern said re-uniting with forward coach David Teague at the Blues was a huge part of his decision. “I’m absolutely stoked to be a part of a great club and the move of the Blues up the ladder,” he said.
