Martin leads the City to Surf charge

Perth Wildcats captain Damian Martin will be among the hundreds of competitors expected to take part in the annual Chevron City to Surf for Activ in Albany this Sunday.

Martin will again be the event ambassador, with the Activ All-Stars having previously competed in the Albany leg of the regional series in 2014.

Another bumper field is expected as Albany’s fifth instalment of the community event kicks off the regional series this year, before it continues on to Geraldton, Karratha and Busselton, finishing in Perth on August 27.

Runners and walkers can still register for the 12km course, while there are walk, run and wheelchair categories in the 4km event. Both races start and finish at Middleton Beach.

The 12km run/walk begins at 8am and the 4km run, walk or roll begins at 8.30am.

Competitors are asked to arrive 30 minutes before.
