Main Roads is appealing for information from the public about the recent theft of batteries and equipment from roadside message boards along Albany Highway.

More than $10,000 worth of equipment has been stolen from roadside variable message boards north of Tunney and Kojonup, according to Main Roads Great Southern regional manager Andrew Duffield.

Mr Duffield said Main Roads wanted to hear from anyone with information or dash-cam footage of suspicious activity or vehicles parked near the boards.

“These message boards are used to display road safety and COVID-safe messaging for motorists and play a vital role in our operations in the Great Southern,” he said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Main Roads on 138 138.
