Albany ruckman Darcy Cameron will make his debut for Collingwood in Thursday night’s blockbuster with reigning premiers Richmond at the MCG.

Magpies coach Nathan Buckley confirmed the news in a press conference today after Cameron was told during a Pies training session earlier in the day, sparking applause from his new teammates.

It will be Cameron’s second AFL game, having only featured once at his previous club Sydney before he was traded to the Magpies.

The North Albany product is likely to play a forward-ruck role, supporting All-Australian and first choice ruckman Brodie Grundy when the AFL resumes on Thursday.

Cameron gets his opportunity after fellow big man Mason Cox has been hampered by injury in the lead-up to the season resumption.
