Four Lower Great Southern Hockey Association products will vie for State selection after being named in the Hockey WA under-17 development squad.

Talented quartet Tallulah Gouldthorp, Charlotte Edwards, Brennan Doak and Karel Cronje were named in the respective women’s and men’s squads after showing impressive form.

North Albany forward Gouldthorp earned State selection in the under-15 squad in 2017, while Manypeaks defender Edwards earned the call-up after she finished third in the LGSHA women’s A-grade best and fairest.

Doak and Cronje are former local players who moved to Perth to further their sport and studies.

Both are no stranger to WA colours, with Doak representing WA earlier this year at the under-15 Australian Hockey Championships in Wollongong and Cronje having captained the State 16 Schoolboys and this year winning bronze with the WA under-18 side. The squad preparation will begin with two development camps, starting next month at the Perth Hockey Stadium.
