Great Southern pair Ron Belfield and Mike Kinnear have both recorded strong top 10 results in the WA Production Sedan Title held at Ellenbrook Speedway at the weekend.

Four drivers from the Great Southern were part of the 60 cars that took part with Albany’s Belfield and Tenterden’s Kinnear both reaching the A-main.

Belfield found himself inside the top 10 on points after the opening day, the multiple State and national champion with a heat win.

Kinnear enjoyed a terrific run in the first three round of heats as well, charging from ninth place to run second in heat 7 and ended the day in 13th place on points while Penn was 34th and Devonshire 40th.

In his final heat on Sunday, Belfield powered to victory from position five to ensure a start on the front rows of the A-main while Kinnear was in form with a heat 24 win. Devonshire finished fourth in the C-main and Penn was seventh.

In the 35-lap A-main Belfield had begun strongly before he was relegated to the rear just a couple of laps in after starting from position six on the grid.

Kinnear started in 10th place and circulated inside the top 10 for the majority of the event. Belfield worked his way back inside the top 10, crossing the line in eighth place while Kinnear was ninth to cap terrific weekends for both veterans.
