Light shows spread cheer at Christmas

Flashing light displays illuminating Albany’s streets can be a highlight of Christmas for many.

Many households get into the Christmas spirit and deck out homes with stunning lights displays enjoyed by carloads cruising bumper to bumper around the suburbs.

Albany Limousines and Charters made sure everyone can enjoy Christmas light hunting by offering free tours to the public.

Owner Simon Winchester said after the successful last two years of offering the tours, they were pleased to have another year of booked-out tours.

“It was a great success again last year and well received by the community,” he said.

“We took over 300 people last year over the week of Christmas, and this week we have a couple hundred booked in on our two buses.”

He said his family were in the position on each tour to carry 75 people, who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity, to look at Christmas lights

“We have buses and we do what we can to hep out the community and to get people out who don’t have an opportunity to do so themselves,” he said. “There are lots of families who don’t have a car or the opportunity or even thought to get out and have a look at the lights themselves so we wanted to offer it to them so no one missed out.”

Mr Winchester said it was a good, fun and free night out and a great way to say thanks and give back to the people who have supported the business throughout the year.

This year they will be taking voluntary donations for the Ronald McDonald House, a charity that has helped the Winchester family over the years.
